Korea Festival – 2015 (December) by KOICA

“Korea Festival 2015” which was organized by the “KOICA – Sri Lanka Volunteers” (World Friends Korea) was successfully held at Viharamahadevi Park on the 5th of December 2015.

The first part of the event was the “Korean Language contest” and it was held at New Town Hall. This was followed up by the Korean Cultural Exhibition (‘Korea culture experience’).

Korea culture experience consisted of several stalls which allowed the general public to enjoy Korean food (Ttobbuki, Fried chicken and cinnamon tea), traditional dresses (hanbok) , Korean traditional acupuncture, Korean traditional games, samulnori* (Traditional music performance) , making paper crafts, Painting of traditional masks, a special photo booth with K-Drama posters and face painting.

The final part of the Korean Festival 2015 was the “K-POP Competition” where many contestants across the country performed singing and dancing performances. It  gave kpop fans in Sri Lanka an all new experience.
